Speakers:

Janice Scott, Director of Adult Protective Services (APS), Manhattan North Borough Office, Human Resources Administration, New York City.

Laura Radensky, LCSW, Executive Director of COHME Home Care Services, a non-profit licensed home care agency.

 

Janice Scott began her career with APS in 1985 as a caseworker. Ms. Scott currently oversees a staff of 66 professionals serving people 18 years of age or older who have mental or physical disabilities. Ms. Scott and her team provide crisis intervention and support services so that at-risk clients may live safely in their homes. Ms. Scott’s dedication to NYC’s most vulnerable populations includes working with HASA (HIV/AIDS Services) for more than a decade. She is a lead representative for the elder abuse multidisciplinary team in Manhattan, facilitated by the NYC Elder Abuse Center. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from St. Francis College in Downtown Brooklyn.

Laura Radensky has worked for over twenty years in home care providing services as a home care social worker, supervisor, and associate director of social work and was the lead on a grant focusing on training of home care workers to identify and report elder abuse. She also has previously was the administrator overseeing programs for volunteers, telehealth, and intake/outreach for community based geriatric services in addition her role as legislative liaison at the New Jewish Home.
